Cummins ISX11.9 CM2250 – Service Manual 007-025   Lubricating Oil Pan

Apply a 1.97 mm [1/8 in] bead of silicon sealant, Part Number 3164067, to each of the four T-joints:

• Two locations at the intersection of the cylinder block and rear gear housing.
• Two locations at the intersection of the cylinder block and front seal carrier.

Install guide pins, Part Number 3164977, into the pan rail to help align the oil pan and gasket to the cylinder block during installation.

Install a new oil pan gasket.

Install the lubricating oil pan.

CAUTION  Do not add lock washers to the factory installed capscrews. The movement of the lock washer against the oil pan can create a path for corrosion and/or stress cracks.

Install the oil pan capscrews.

Remove the guide pins, if used, and install the remaining capscrews.

Tighten the capscrews in a crisscross sequence, as illustrated.
