Rocker Lever Cover Mounted Crankcase Breather
Disconnect the two wiring harness connectors from the rocker lever gasket.
Use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to push in the connector retainer while pulling up on the connector.
Remove the rocker lever cover mounting capscrews and isolators.
Remove the rocker lever cover.
Do not disturb the crankcase breather gasket located on the rocker lever cover.
NOTE: Exposure to oil can cause the gasket to swell, which can make it difficult to install the gasket back into
the groove. If the gasket comes out of the groove, do not attempt to install the gasket. Replace it with a new
gasket. Refer to Procedure 003-021 in Section 3.
The rocker lever cover gasket has molded features that prevent the injector solenoid wires from rotating during
removal.
Disconnect the injector solenoid wires from each injector.
Remove the rocker lever cover gasket.
Rear Engine Mounted Crankcase Breather
NOTE: Do not remove the rocker lever cover gasket on engines in which the gasket is fit into a groove at the base
of the rocker lever cover. The gasket is reusable. Once the gasket is removed from the rocker lever cover, it must be
replaced.
Remove the mounting nuts and isolators from the rocker lever cover.
Remove the rocker lever cover.
