Rocker Lever Cover Mounted Crankcase Breather
Install the rocker lever cover gasket. Make sure the locating tabs on the rocker lever gasket align with the
rocker lever housing.
The rocker lever cover gasket has molded features that prevent the injector solenoid wires from rotating during
installation.
Connect the injector solenoid wires to each injector.
Use service tool, Part Number 3823208 or a torque wrench, to tighten the solenoid wires.
Torque Value: 1.50 Nโขm [ 13 in-lb ]
Install the rocker lever cover. Make sure the locating tabs on the rocker lever gasket align with the rocker lever cover.
Install the rocker lever cover mounting capscrews and isolators.
Tighten the mounting capscrews, starting with the center capscrews.
Torque Value: 24 Nโขm [ 212 in-lb]
Do not disturb the crankcase breather gasket located on the rocker lever cover.
NOTE: Exposure to oil can cause the gasket to swell, which can make it difficult to install the gasket back into
the groove. If the gasket comes out of the groove, do not attempt to install the gasket. Replace it with a new gasket. Refer to Procedure 003-021 in Section 3.
NOTE: When inserting the wiring harness connector into the rocker lever cover gasket, make sure to keep the
connector perpendicular to the rocker lever cover gasket to ensure proper alignment of the connector.
Connect the two wiring harness connectors to the rocker lever cover gasket.
Rear Engine Mounted Crankcase Breather
NOTE: If the gasket has been removed from the rocker lever cover, a new gasket must be used.
If replacing the rocker lever gasket, the following installation procedure must be used when installing the press-in gasket.
โข Press the molded gasket into the corners of the rocker lever cover
โข Press the remaining gasket into the rocker lever cover.
Install the rocker lever cover.
Install the rocker lever cover isolators and mounting fasteners.
Tighten the mounting fasteners, starting with the center fasteners.
Torque Value: 24 Nโขm [ 212 in-lb ]
