Rocker Lever Cover Mounted Crankcase Breather
Remove the oil fill cap.
Remove the crankcase ventilation filter cover capscrews.
Remove the filter cover.
Remove the crankcase ventilation filter from the rocker lever cover.
Do not disturb the crankcase ventilation filter gasket located on the rocker lever cover.
NOTE: Exposure to oil can cause the gasket to swell, which can make it difficult to install the gasket back into
the groove. If the gasket comes out of the groove, do not attempt to install the gasket. Replace it with a new gasket.
If the gasket is damaged, remove the gasket by grasping the tab on the gasket and pulling up.
Rear Engine Mounted Crankcase Breather
NOTE: Due to limited access to the crankcase ventilation filter cover capscrews, it may be necessary to remove the
crankcase ventilation housing before removing the ventilation cover and filter on some applications. Refer to
Procedu re 003-001 in Section 3.
Remove the crankcase ventilation filter cover capscrews.
Remove the filter cover.
Remove the filter.
