Front gear train engines use an electric motor driven lift pump that is located in the fuel tank, which is installed by
the OEM.
For repair related information, refer to the OEM service information.
Rear gear train engines do not utilize an electric motor driven lift pump. An OEM-installed hand priming pump is
used to prime the fuel system.
NOTE: The fuel lift pump or priming pump is an OEM-supplied component that may not be installed or may be
designed differently. If a priming pump is not installed or has a different design, refer to the OEM service manual
for fuel system priming pump flow testing.
