Clean the mating surfaces with an abrasive pad, Part Number 3823258 or equivalent, and a clean cloth.
For front gear train engines, if the exhaust pressure sensor was removed , inspect the exhaust pressure sensor
port for carbon build-up.
If carbon build-up is found, make sure that all exhaust pressure sensor tube connections are tight and leak-free
upon assembly.
If required , clean the exhaust pressure sensor port with solvent and dry with compressed air.
Make sure that the passage between the exhaust pressure sensor tube connection and the exhaust pressure sensor
port is clear of any debris.
Inspect the thermostat for external damage. Inspect for cracks, embedded debris, missing check balls, damaged
seat, and other damage.
Replace the thermostat if any damage is found.
