6.7L Cummins Exhaust System – Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter – Remove

V-Band Clamp Connection
• Mark the direction of exhaust flow to aid in assembly.
• Draw an orientation reference line across each of the V-band clamps, aftertreatment canister sections, and                     connection points to the tailpipe. This aids in the alignment of sections and V-band clamps to their original                   orientation during installation.

NOTE: It may be necessary to remove additional mounting hardware to remove the aftertreatment diesel
particulate filter from the vehicle.
Remove the V-band clamps from the inlet and outlet flanges of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter.
Separate the flanges by approximately 13 mm [0.5 in] to allow removal over the gasket retainer rings.
Remove and discard the gaskets.

Three-Bolt Clamp Connection
• Mark the direction of exhaust flow on both joined aftertreatment diesel oxidation catalyst-aftertreatment diesel           particulate filter sections to aid in assembly.

Disconnect the three-bolt joints on the inlet and outlet of the joined aftertreatment diesel oxidation catalyst-
aftertreatment diesel particulate filter.
Separate the three-bolt joints from the tailpipe at the inlet and outlet, and remove the joined aftertreatment diesel
oxidation catalyst-aftertreatment diesel particulate filter from the vehicle.
Remove and discard the gaskets.
