6.7L Cummins Exhaust System – Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter – Install

ā€¢ Install the new gaskets on the inlet and outlet of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter canister.
NOTE: In some applications, a locating tab is integrated into the gasket retaining ring. The locating tab prevents
the jointed aftertreatment diesel oxidation catalyst- aftertreatment diesel particulate filter from being installed
backward and restricts the rotational orientation at which the filter can be installed.
NOTE: On vertical aftertreatment diesel particulate filter canisters, an aftertreatment diesel particulate filter
differential pressure sensor tube support may be present.
Make sure that the support is aligned with the tube prior to installing the filter.

ā€¢ Apply a coat of anti-seize compound on the threads of the V-band clamps and TorcaTM clamps.
ā€¢ Install the exhaust gas filter.
ā€¢ Loosely tighten the V-band clamps to allow rotation for final alignment of the differential pressure sensor tubes.
ā€¢ If removed, connect the exhaust gas pressure sensor tubes and tighten.
Torque Value: 17 Nā€¢m [ 150 in-lb ]
ā€¢ Tighten the V-band clamps.
Torque Value: 20 Nā€¢m [ 177 in-lb]

ā€¢ Install new gaskets on the three-bolt flanges at the inlet and outlet of the joined aftertreatment diesel oxidation
catalyst-aftertreatment diesel particulate filter canister.
ā€¢ Install the joined aftertreatment diesel oxidation catalyst-aftertreatment diesel particulate filter between
the three-bolt flanges on the tailpipe at the inlet and outlet.
ā€¢ Install the nuts on the three-bolt flanges at the inlet and outlet of the joined aftertreatment diesel oxidation
catalyst-aftertreatment diesel particulate filter.
ā€¢ Tighten the nuts.
