6.7L Power Stroke – Lubrication System Oil Flow

โ€ข Oil is drawn from the oil pan through the pickup tube. The oil is then routed through a passage cast into the upperย  ย  ย  ย oil pan then to the oil pump inlet.
โ€ข From the oil pump, oil is directed to the oil cooler and then to the oil filter.
โ€ข The main oil passage in the rear of the engine block feeds the right, left and the camshaft galleries.
โ€ข Right oil gallery feeds the:
โ€“ rocker arm oiling manifold for the right cylinder head.
โ€“ cam followers and hydraulic lifters on the right side.
โ€“ piston cooling jets on the right side.
โ€“ crankshaft main bearings,
โ€ข a separate oil passage for each main bearing.
โ€ข also used to lubricate the connecting rod bearings.
โ€“ turbocharger.
โ€ข Left oil gallery feeds the:
โ€“ rocker arm oiling manifold for the left cylinder head.
โ€ข An oil passage connected to the gallery going up to the left cylinder head also provides engine oil to the:
โ€“ vacuum pump.
โ€“ meshed gears of the crankshaft, camshaft and high pressure fuel pump.

โ€“ cam followers and hydraulic lifters on the left side.
โ€“ piston cooling jets on the left side.
โ€ข Camshaft oil gallery feeds the camshaft bearings.
