The figure depicts the installation position of the intake manifold flap, the vacuum unit and the intake manifold flap position sensor.

The function of the intake manifold flap during the active regeneration process is similar to that of the diesel particulate filter in the Delphi common rail system.

Note: After replacing the intake manifold flap position sensor or after replacing/reprogramming the PCM, an initialization of the intake manifold flap position sensor must be performed using the PCM.
