Remove the fan pulley.
Remove the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Procedure (7-15).
Remove the gear cover. Refer to Procedure (7-18).
Remove the camshaft. Refer to Procedure (7-19).

On bolted camshafts, remove the camshaft bolt and washer.
Bolted camshafts are only used on 1991 engines equipped with an inline pump.
Remove the gear.
Remove the camshaft key.
