The 6.5L EFI V8 diesel is derived from the same block as the non-EFI 6.5L engine. All 6.5L engines share the following attributes:
โข a four-stroke cycle
โข a compression ratio of 21.3:1
โข eight cylinders, each with a bore measurement of 103 mm (4.055 in) and piston stroke of 97 mm (3.818 in)
โข high-swirl pre-combustion chambers to mix fuel and air efficiently, resulting in low exhaust emissions
โข controlled turbocharged air intake pressure of between 2 and 8 psi at peak torque, based on engine speed, load, and other conditions
