GM/Detroit 6.5L – Mechanical System – INTAKE MANIFOLD

The cast aluminum intake manifold connects the air induction system inlet duct to the intake ports of each cylinder head (figure 2-3). Features of the intake manifold include:
โ€ข Mounting of the air inlet duct with bolts and a paper gasket
โ€ข Mounting to each cylinder head with bolts and studs, as well as a special composite gasket
โ€ข Support for eight fuel injection lines, using brackets and rubber isolators
โ€ข Support for the turbocharger oil supply line, using a bracket
โ€ข Support for the fuel filter assembly
โ€ข Port for the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and boost sensor
โ€ข Port and gasket for the EGR valve
โ€ข Mounting for two turbocharger support brackets
