The cast aluminum intake manifold connects the air induction system inlet duct to the intake ports of each cylinder head (figure 2-3). Features of the intake manifold include:
โข Mounting of the air inlet duct with bolts and a paper gasket
โข Mounting to each cylinder head with bolts and studs, as well as a special composite gasket
โข Support for eight fuel injection lines, using brackets and rubber isolators
โข Support for the turbocharger oil supply line, using a bracket
โข Support for the fuel filter assembly
โข Port for the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and boost sensor
โข Port and gasket for the EGR valve
โข Mounting for two turbocharger support brackets
