GM/Detroit 6.5L – COOLANT PUMP

The pump is of the centrifugal vane impeller type. The impeller turns on a steel shaft that rotates in a permanently lubricated bail bearing.

The pump inlet is connected to the bottom of the radiator by a rubber hose. From the pump, coolant passes through the engine front cover into the coolant pas sages in the block to pick up excess engine heat.
