Oil Pan, Suspended
NOTE: A suspended oil pan consists of the oil pan, mounting flange, and a flexible gasket.
Remove the oil pan mounting capscrews, oil pan, mounting flange, and flexible gasket.
NOTE: The lubricating oil pan flange can be damaged if a prybar or screwdriver is used to break the sealnt at the
corners of the oil pan. Use a utility knife of the edge of a putty knife to cut the seal and loosen the pan.
Oil Pan, Standard
NOTE: A standard oil pan consists of the oil pan and a mounting gasket.
Remove the oil pan mounting capscrews, oil pan, and mounting gasket.
The lubricating oil pan flange can be damaged if a prybar or screwdriver is used to break the formed-in-place gasket
seal. Use a utility knife or the edge of a putty knife to cut the seal and loosen the pan.
Oil Pan, Formed-in-Place Gasket
An oil pan with a formed-in-place gasket consists of the oil pan and applied RTV sealant.
NOTE: A pre-made gasket is not used between the oil pan and cylinder block.
