Inspect the idler pu lley for nicks, cracks or any other type of damage. Spin the idler pulley to check for rough or noisy operation.
Replace the idler pulley if any damage is found .

Inspect the idler pulley shaft for grooves or galling.
Replace the shaft or support bracket if any damage is found.
