If the lubricating oil pump is to be inspected for reuse, follow these steps.
Visually inspect the llubricating oil pump gears for chips, cracks, or excessive wear.
Remove the back plate.
Mark โTOPโ on the gerotor planetary.
Remove the gerotor planetary.
Inspect for excessive wear or damage.
Clean all parts in solvent and dry with compressed air.
Inspect the lubricating oil pump housing and gerotor drive for damage and excessive wear.
Caution: Be sure the gerotor planetary is installed in the original position.
Install the gerotor planetary.
Measure the tip clearance.
Measure the clearance of the gerotor drive/gerotor planยญetary to port plate.
Measure the clearance of the gerotor planetary to the body bore.
Measure the gears backlash.
Install the back plate.
