KUBOTA – L2501 – STEERING – STEERING GEAR BOX – OPERATION – Left Turn

When the steering wheel is turned left, the initial friction between the tires and the road surface keeps the
ball nut (4) and sector shaft (6) in their positions. The torsion bar (2) alone is twisted to produce a gap between
the input shaft (1) and sleeve (3) and to activate the valve. By so doing, the cylinder’s chamber “a” comes under high pressure and the ball nut (4) is moved to the right. Finally the sector shaft (6) gets turned to turn the machine to the left.
