The following special tools are recommended to perform procedures in Section 7. The use of these tools is shown in the appropriate procedure. These tools can be purchased from your local Cummins Authorized Repair Location.
Preparatory Step: • Drain the engine oil. Disconnect the oil heater electrical cord. Remove the heater element. Ratchet, 1 inch Deep Well Socket, Torque Wrench Replace the heater element. Refill the engine to the correct oil level. Torque Value: 120 N®m [88 ft-lb]
